Summer Film camp
We’ve successfully conducted five of our film camps so far. PhilanthroFilms is excited to be announcing its Summer film camp that will be a complete short film production, fully created by students.
What is Film Camp?
Film camp is a student-only educational opportunity designed for middle school through college students to receive hands-on experience in the film industry. The program is affordable, covers the topics at a comfortable pace for beginners, and is facilitated by local film professionals!
Our Approach
By training a local film talent pool, we’re equipping the next wave of professional film production crew members. Our training’s are an open invitation for others to join the growing film production workforce in South Georgia.

2025 Moultrie Film Camp
At our 3-day Film Camp hosted by the Arts Center of Moultrie, students got a behind-the-scenes look at the world of filmmaking through hands-on learning and real-world guidance. The camp kicked off with an introduction to the five stages of film production, brought to life through a practical demonstration that included a mock scene and lighting setup. Students rotated through breakout sessions led by PhilanthroFilms Instructors, gaining insight into different departments—camera/audio, grip/electric and lighting, art, producing, and directing.
Armed with this foundational knowledge, students then spent two full days on set filming a collaborative short film. Each camper selected a production role they felt most passionate about and had the chance to contribute in a meaningful way, whether that was in front of or behind the camera, coordinating logistics, or helping to call the shots as director. The experience gave them a true taste of what it takes to bring a story from concept to screen, while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork.
