PHILANTHROFILMS VISTA PROJECT:
PhilanthroFilms works with communities to attract the film industry to the region by facilitating economic development through education and training, and providing support for media projects with positive themes of inspiration and hope. The following VISTA Member Virtual Address Descriptors (VADs) allow for PhilanthroFilms to build a cohesive cohort that is dedicated to creating and fostering the next generation of film makers that will serve communities, improve lives, and foster civic engagement.
CURRENT VISTA MEMBER VADs:
Education Coordinator
Education is PhilanthroFilms’s main pillar. Through our educational programs, the community gains the knowledge and skills necessary to engage with the film industry. With this in mind, this VISTA Member will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with local educational institutions to better facilitate educational programs.
- Develop working relationships with regional school systems to engage with CTAE programs, higher education programs, and other local education programs for students and teachers.
- Assemble a database of regional school systems, administrators, instructors, and film-oriented programs offered.
- Establish a combined calendar with regional school systems’ schedules to best coordinate PhilanthroFilms camps and trainings.
- Facilitate communication with all educational participants during PhilanthroFilms programs.
- Coordinate, schedule, develop curriculum, oversee volunteers, and facilitate the logistics of PhilanthroFilms programs.
- Maintain a database with contact information of educational participants in PhilanthroFilms programs.
- Represent PhilanthroFilms at any school functions or speaking engagements.
Marketing Coordinator
Community engagement is pivotal to maintaining the facilitation of PhilanthroFilms programming. With its focus in video production, this engagement must incorporate industry-standard material to share with its community. This VISTA member will help with creating awareness in the community for what PhilanthroFilms is doing—workshops, training, and community events—through the development of industry-standard marketing materials such as flyers, promotional videos, social media posts, and newsletters for the community.
- Create & maintain social media presence.
- Write and send PhilanthroFilms newsletters as needed.
- Maintain and update PhilanthroFilms’ website as needed.
- Create & maintain communication channels with local students, citizens, business leaders, and political figures.
- Maintain communication with PhilanthroFilms’ donors, volunteers, and subscribers about all scheduled programs and news.
- Develop & maintain a branding catalog to represent all things PhilanthroFilms.
- Maintain the voice of PhilanthroFilms through every piece of public marketing content.
Production Coordinator
PhilanthroFilms aspires to train up the workforce and bring productions to GA. Part of what will bring production to the area is having photos and videos available for industry leaders to understand what assets and locations are in the area and production ready. This VISTA Member will oversee the production and organization of these assets.
- Organize and facilitate the systematic cataloging of the region for any assets that would be desirable by film production companies.
- Film & edit asset material to help support PhilanthroFilms in attracting film to the region.
- Develop curriculum and oversee the facilitation of industry-standard training and programming.
Asset Facilitator
Being a non-profit, PhilanthroFilms relies heavily on grants and the community to support their projects. This VISTA Member will use relational and organizational skills to develop meaningful connections that will help PhilanthroFilms to facilitate its programming.
- Develop & maintain relationships with local community members, city officials, & vendors who might provide assets to PhilanthroFilms.
- Develop & maintain a database of all assets (including creatives, students, volunteers, locations, equipment, etc.) to be accessed by PhilanthroFilms.
- Oversee PhilanthroFilm’ official email and respond accordingly.
- Research grant opportunities, acquire data and statistics needed for proposals, write and submit grant applications, create a database of recurring grant cycles and deadlines, and set up an electronic toolbox to be used housing all documents needed to seek future grant funding.
- Film & edit asset material to help support PhilanthroFilms in attracting film to the region.
Film Liaison
Maintaining industry standards is paramount to ensuring PhilanthroFilms’ reputation as a fruitful nonprofit within educational and professional spheres. This VISTA Member will be responsible for ensuring PhilanthroFilms is providing the most accurate material and experiences that best prepare the community for engagement with the film industry.
- Develop & maintain working relationships with industry personnel.
- Represent PhilanthroFilms at any film industry events and during any interactions with industry personnel.
- Maintain an education and understanding of industry-standard techniques and trends through reading of trade reports, participating in available department courses, and developing film productions.
- Develop curriculum that accurately reflects current industry trends based on continued personal education.
- Film & edit asset material to help support PhilanthroFilms in attracting film to the region.
